Why does it seem that we just have one really bad inning? As the 5th inning the night before saw the BayStars give up 6 runs to the Giants in their eventual 8-10 loss, this evening it was the 2nd inning when Yokohama's recent 3rd round draft pick, Shoichi Inoh, lost the game.

After a walk, error, and another walk to start the top of the 2nd inning with the bases loaded and nobody out, Jose Lopez singled in the first run of the game with a base hit to left. John Bowker followed with a no-doubt-about-it grand slam home run to right and the Giants quickly took a 5-0 lead.

Inoh did stay in the game and complete five innings, just allowing those five runs. Nakahata-kantoku sure does seem patient with struggling pitchers. I'm hoping that Inoh's debut outing helps him mature quickly.

Blanco showed his value, driving in two more runs while raising his RBI total for the year to 12 through 5 games.

Nori (Norihoro Nakamura) hit his first home run of the year, a solo shot with one out in the 6th inning. This was in answer to allowing two more runs in the top of the inning, but not nearly enough. The 'Stars lost the game 4-7.

The man with all the pressure on him was Alex Ramirez, 3 hits shy of the 2,000 mark coming into the home stand, and remaining there through the two games. He said that he's not in any hurry and just wants to contribute to the team winning. Getting a couple hits when the team has a rally going would do that. But I don't think that the pressure is getting to him.

頑張れラミちゃん。
