Ma-kun Defeats the Nation - May 14, 2013

A leadoff solo home run (19th) by Tonly Blanco in the top of the 2nd inning temporarily put Yokohama on top of the visiting Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles' ace Masahiro Tanaka. But a wind blown 3-run shot 3 innings later turned the game around for good as the Eagles took their first game of Inter-league play by a score of 7-3.

In getting the win, Tanaka (aka Ma-kun) notched his first career victory at Yokohama Stadium, having last failed in 2011's Inter-league mini-season. 2011 saw Ma-kun add Hiroshima's Mazda Zoom Zoom Stadium to his belt, Yokohama finally completing the set in 2013 of 12 NPB primary home stadia with victories. His record over his 7 year career at the main 12 stadiums were won at:

48-17 K Stadium Miyagi
5-1 Sapporo Dome
5-1 YafuOku Dome (Fukuoka Dome)
5-2 QVC (Chiba Marine)
4-3 Kyocera Dome
2-0 Nagoya Dome
2-1 Koshien
2-3 Tokyo Dome
2-5 Seibu Dome
1-0 Jingu Kyujyo
1-0 Mazda Zoom Zoom Stadium
1-1 Yokohama Stadium

(Ma-kun is 3-1 in 5 countryside venues.)

In other news, Norihiro Nakamura's 11 game hitting streak came to an end as he went down swinging twice against Ma-kun then grounded out twice. Normally ready to drive in a run with runners in scoring position, he missed two opportunities this game. Can't get 'em all.
