The second round starts

So we move to the second round of the Climax series with Tigers taking on Gomiuri. A very good start based on some strong batting by Gomez and nice pitching from Fujinami. We saw Wada's propensity to over-pitch his pitchers again but in a series like this it is acceptable. Fujinami may get another start in Game 6 - plenty of time for a rest. Tigers won the game 4-1 with three runs from the bat of Gomez including a two run home run and one run from the bat of Toritani. It was all nicely paced as well. One note of caution though - even though it is nice to start the series off with a victory it still means that under Climax Series second stage rules the series is tied 1-1. The home team gets a one game advantage as well as home turf.
