Nice 2-1 win over the Hawks last night at the Jo.

Shogo Akiyama's sayonara homer in the 9th won it after Nakaji had tied it with a solo blast in the 7th.

But the real story was the stellar pitching of Yusei Kikuchi. The lefty was superb over 8-1/3 innings, allowing only one ER on 7 hits. Unfortunately, he wasn't around to claim his 4th win of the season.

The Lions are finally showing confidence in the once highly-touted southpaw and are being rewarded. He has been rock-solid since taking a regular turn in the rotation and is one of the reasons why the Leos are in first place.

A game and a half up now but lots of baseball to go!

Thanks John. I read your blog as often as I can and hope mine will be half as good as yours. Thanks for the inspiration.
