Nippon Ham Clinches Third

Nippon Ham Clinches Third
With a Magic Number of 2 going into tonight's play for third place, there was flying pork over grounded Eagles as the Fighters defeated Rakuten 17-0 at K-Stadium Miyagi. With that win for Nippon Ham's last game of the season, Lotte would have to be a perfect 3 and 0 on the way out.

However, it didn't happen.

At Chiba Marine Stadium this evening Shunsuke self destructed in the second inning and Lotte unsuccessfully played catch up the rest of the night. Seibu broke out of their losing streak just in time to eliminate Lotte from the race, winning 9-5.

Yes. This was really sad. Lotte having 3 games left needed to win all 3 but lost in the first game already.
