Who was the first player from the U.S. to be on a Japan Championship team?

I think Henry "Bozo" Kobayashi played with the Hanshin Tigers when they won the championship in 1947.

Correction:

I must have been tired from lack of sleep!

I meant Henry Tadashi "Bozo" Wakabayashi in 1944 and 1947 as Tigers' player/manager.
