I can think of Jim Lefebvre (Mariners, Cubs, Brewers) who played for the Lotte Orions.
There a lot more players who became MLB coaches and minor league managers.
Also, Trey Hillman and Bobby Valentine managed in MLB after managing in Japan.

It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. At this moment Charlie Manuel (Phillies), who played for the Swallows and Buffaloes, is doing well.
But there are more managers. Ken Macha (Brewers) played for the Dragons, Jim Tracy (Rockies) played for the Whales (now Baystars). Davey Johnson (former Mets manager) played for the Giants.
Do you think that playing in Japan helped them becoming a manager in the MLB?
