Highlights?
Are there any sites that have video highlights of NPB games? I'm thinking of the MLB sites, that all have 2 or 3 plays from each game that you can watch. I've poked around the team sites and couldn't find anything, but I can't read Japanese. Maybe someone who can read it would be more successful.

Another idea would be TV channel websites. I know some in Spain where you can watch the sports segment of the nightly news and get highlights of soccer games. Maybe NHK or another outlet would have something similar.

I'm especially interested in Central League, since you can see the Pacific League teams on the Hawks and Lions broadcasts.

Thanks!

I found that you can see highlights of good plays by the Hawks at their site. If you run your cursor over the links, at the bottom of the screen you can see what address they point to, generally labelled in English. If you go to the top, find schedule. There you have a link to each game. If you click on the game, you'll see a summary, and every so often there's a "100K" link to a good play by the Hawks.

If I could find something like this for other teams, that would be exactly what I'm looking for.

Again, I'm really interested in seeing some Central league baseball. Is there any way to do that from here in the US, other than the 20 dollars per month TV Japan option?

Thanks...

Once again I'm answering my own question here...I feel like I'm talking to myself, but I just thought others might be interested...

After much searching, I found highlights on the Giants site. If you go to http://www.giants.jp/G/highlight/movie.html, today the first link is an interview with the manager, second is a speech by a player, the third is a minute and a half highlight reel, showing the good plays by both Giants and Swallows. Enjoy!

The Marines page seems to be primarily post-game interview type stuff. Is that right?

The MLB site, particularly the clips of Sadaharu Oh, is amazing...

Thanks, and if anyone here knows of more let us know...

Thanks - these are great links. I think we should keep each other posted for the rest of the season's playoff videos, and then when next season gets underway maybe develop some sort of master list so it can all be easily found.

The Chiba Lotte Marines website has a highlight video of Game 1 of the Nippon Series up on their website now. As you can see from this video, the fog was very bad late and it led to the game being called after seven innings.

I just saw the "highlights of the Japanese league" on the MLB page - ha! That was a blast from the past. Taiyo Whales, Kawasaki Stadium, Nankai Hawks, the Lucky Zone in Koshien, Nishinomiya Stadium and the Hankyu Braves, the Lions deep blue uniforms with no roof over Tokorozawa. I wonder if the people watching that know the highlights are at best 17 years old?

"Taiyo Whales, Kawasaki Stadium, Nankai Hawks, the Lucky Zone in Koshien, Nishinomiya Stadium and the Hankyu Braves, the Lions deep blue uniforms with no roof over Tokorozawa."

That is old, the Whales were before the BayStars, the Nankai Hawks before Daiei, the Hankyu Braves before Orix, and the Lions deep blue uniforms were a long time ago. I've never realized those highlights were that old.
