Baseball Sim?

Discussion in the Ask the Commish forum
Baseball Sim?
Between the years of 1985 through 1992 "Hobby Japan" published and sold a Pro Yakyu table top baseball simulation. Here is a link to a couple of jpgs of the box.

We are trying to find this game and you may be our best hope? Even knowing the exact title of the product might be a positive in our pursuit? If you could help we would certainly appreciate your efforts.

Thank you,

James Linnear

The first image shows the title to be "The Big Yakyu '92 Edition." The back mentions new rules in the '92 edition for the "thrilling and speedy" game.

This search turns up a number of promising links, including BigBaseball.web.fc2.com, which looks like a community of Big Yakyu fans (in Japanese) with links going out to many of the same search results.

This does appear to be a hobby that requires a high level of Japanese reading ability. That's as good a motivator for learning as I can think of.

Hope this helps.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
