CPBL: New Foreign Players
The La New Bears have signed right handed pitcher Yusuke Arakawa and assigned him to their farm club. In 2005 the 28 year old Tokyo native was 4-4 with a 5.09 ERA in 41 games with the Tulsa Drillers of the Double-A Texas League.

Meanwhile, the President Lions have signed a former NPB player - Bryant Nelson. The 32 year old switch hitter batted .248 with 7 home runs and 60 RBIs in 138 games with the Syracuse SkyChiefs of the Triple-A International League last season. However, in 2004, Nelson hit .288 with 22 homers and 83 RBIs with the Charlotte Knights. In 2003 he was a disappointment with the then Fukuoka Daiei Hawks where he batted .228 with 3 bombs and 17 RBIs in 54 games.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
