Pre/Post-1945 Analysis,

Discussion in the Pro Yakyu History forum
Pre/Post-1945 Analysis,
I've posted some new material on Japanese baseball history at baseballguru.com. The first is a rewrite of a previous article that looked at how hitters had been affected by the conditions of pre-1945 Japanese ball versus the post-1945 conditions. The new material adds a look at how pitchers were affected by the same changes, and then a little more in-depth look at the two sets of data. That stuff can be found in this article.

I then took this new research and reevaluated the five pre-1945 Japanese pitchers I thought might be Cooperstown caliber hurlers in light of this newer information in this article.

Hope you find them interesting.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
