Hanshin Tigers' outfielder Tomoaki Kanemoto was named the CL MVP and Softbank Hawks' pitcher Toshiya Sugiuchi was named PL MVP for 2005.

Kanemoto batted .327 with 40 HRs and 125 RBI. Sugiuchi went 18-4 with a 2.11 ERA in 26 games. Sugiuchi had 8 CGs and while allowing just 43 BBs and striking out 218 [2005 Hawks Stats - Borisov's Pro Yakyu].

The Central League Rookie of the Year went to Swallows' outfielder Norichika Aoki who batted .344 with 3 HRs and 28 RBI [2005 Swallows Stats - Borisov's]. Aoki became the second batter to hit 200 hits in a single season (with 202). The Pacific League Rookie of the Year went to Chiba Lotte Marines' pitcher Yasutomo Kubo who went 10-3 with a 3.40 ERA in 19 games, and had 5 CGs [2005 Marine Stats - Borisov's].
