Sasaoka To Retire
Hiroshima Carp pitcher Shinji Sasaoka said he will retire at the end of the season. Sasaoka [NPB-BIS - in Japanese] is 2-7 with a 6.40 ERA in 12 games for the Carp this year.

Sasaoka was the first round draft pick of the Carp back in 1990. He has a career 138-153 record with 106 saves and a 3.58 ERA in 568 games.
