Team Japan Olympic Provisional Squad Set
Team Japan manager, Senichi Hoshino, announced the 34-man provisional roster for the Asian pool Olympic qualifying tournament in Taiwan in December.

Provisional Roster

Pitchers (15): Yu Darvish (Fighters), Hisashi Takeda (Fighters), Masaru Takeda (Fighters), Toshiya Sugiuchi (Hawks), Hideaki Wakui (Lions), Hiroyuki Kobayashi (Marines), Yoshihisa Naruse (Marines), Shunsuke Watanabe (Marines), Daisuke Katoh (Buffaloes), Hitoki Iwase (Dragons), Kenshin Kawakami (Dragons), Kyuji Fujikawa (Tigers), Hisanori Takahashi (Giants), Koji Uehara (Giants), Kohei Hasebe (Aichi Institute of Technology)

Catchers(4): Tomoya Satozaki (Marines), Akihiro Yano (Tigers), Shinnosuke Abe (Giants), Ryoji Aikawa (BayStars)

Infielders (8): Munenori Kawasaki (Hawks), Tsuyoshi Nishioka (Marines), Masahiro Araki (Dragons), Hirokazu Ibata (Dragons), Shinya Miyamoto (Swallows), Michihiro Ogasawara (Giants), Takahiro Arai (Carp), Shuichi Murata (BayStars)

Outfielders (7): Atsunori Inaba (Fighters), Hitoshi Tamura (Hawks), Kazuhiro Wada (Lions), Saburo Ohmura (Marines), Masahiko Morino (Dragons), Norichika Aoki (Swallows), Yoshinobu Takahashi (Giants)

This roster will be broken down to the final 24-man roster in November, which will then play in the Olympic qualifer.
