Lions, Brazell Reach Agreement
The Seibu Lions have signed first baseman/DH Craig Brazell [Baseball-Reference] to a one year contract. Brazell fits the Lions' need of a power bat to replace Alex Cabrera.

Brazell batted .315/.352/.601 with 39 HR's (leading all minor leaguers) and 91 RBI in 135 games and 542 AB's between AA Wichita and AAA Omaha. He went 1-4 (.250) with 0 HR's and 0 RBI in 5 games with the Royals.

He's batted .263/.300/.395 with 1 HR and 3 RBI in 29 games and 38 AB's between the Mets and Royals.

Being a Royals fan in the U.S., he's practically a left-handed hitting Alex Cabrera - tons of power, but never really got a true shot in MLB. I wouldn't be surprised if he did really well in Japan.

Those power numbers are gaudy. No wonder they were so eager to let go of Cabrera.
