Though, this article says that the Tigers and Igawa failed to reached an agreement in the third round of talks over a contract on Wednesday. Also, this article says that Igawa now has no choice but to enter spring training as a non-roster invitee. So what is going on with Igawa right now, has he signed a contract or not? It all seems to have gotten confusing. Igawa reportedly has had a change of heart and is now saying that he might retire from Japanese baseball and go to the majors if the Tigers do not post him. I suppose he hasn't signed the contract yet. Reports also indicate that Hoshino and Okada are furious over his antics.

Okada apparently had a chat with Igawa and has stated that Igawa will be playing for the Tigers next year. He made it clear to the pitcher that he had no chance of being posted and Igawa apparently accepted this.
