Kintetsu and Lotte Tie Pa-League Record for most Double Plays
In Kintetsu's 6-3 trampling of the Chiba Lotte Marines last night (8/28) at Chiba Marine Stadium, the two teams combined to turn a total of 7 double plays, tying the Pacific League record done 6 times before. The Japan record stands at 8 double plays, done by Yakult and Chunichi on July 29, 1979.

Chiba hit into four double plays in the first four innings of last night's game, each one ending their threats along with the innings. Kintetsu managed to spread theirs out, hitting into inning ending double plays in the 2nd, 4th, and 9th.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
