The Central League and NPB record is held by Hiroshima's Yoshihiko Takahashi who hit in 33 consecutive games between June 6 and July 31, 1979.

The Pacific League record is held by Hankyu's Atsushi Nagaike who hit in 32 consecutive games between May 28 and July 6, 1971.

For reference, Ichiro, who holds the record for most hits in a season, only hit in as many as 23 consecutive games -- but he did it twice in 1994. Seibu's Matsui also hit in 23 games in a row in 1999.
