Tatsunami Hits 400th Double, Scores 1,000th Run
In the rain at Jingu Kyujyo Thursday night (June 26), Chunichi's Tatsunami Kazuyoshi (family name first) hit two big milestones. With a double to center in the top of the first inning, Tatsunami became the 9th player to hit 400 career doubles. Fukumoto Yutaka (Hankyu Braves) holds the Japan record of 449 career doubles which Tatsunami can realisticly reach on his current pace within a couple more seasons.

Alex followed that up with a single to right to drive Tatsunami in, scoring his 1,000th career run scored. Tatsunami is the 30th player to reach the 1,000 runs scored plateau.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
