Kiyohara: 475th HR, 1,400th RBI

Kiyohara: 475th HR, 1,400th RBI
The Giants' Kiyohara Kazuhiro has reached another pair of landmarks. In the Giants' losing cause against Hiroshima on Sunday night (September 7), Kiyohara hit a (tempararilly) game tying solo home run to left, the 475th of his career. This places Kiyohara in sole possession of 9th place on the all time home run list, one above Seibu's Tabuchi Kohichi. The single RBI for the home run also tied Kiyohara with Seibu's Doi Masahiro for 10th place on the career RBI category.

Not too bad for a guy who's never won a title (batting, home run, or RBI).

It almost reminds me of Eddie Murray's accomplishments.

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
