Kintetsu hits 200 HRs

Discussion in the Records and Milestones forum
Kintetsu hits 200 HRs
With two of the top three home run hitters in Japan on their team, the Buffaloes have reached the 200 round tripper mark on Isobe's gyaku-ten (come from behind) home run last night (9/19) at Osaka Dome. That was Isobe's 15th home run of the year, but the big hitters, Rhodes (54) and Nakamura (44) account for just short of half of milestones.

The Giants hit 203 home runs last season, but the last time a Pacific League hit the 200 mark was when the same Kintetsu Buffaloes hit 212 out in 1985. (Was this the year they were charged with using illegal balls at Fujiidera?) The 8 teams to hit the milestone are:

As you can see, Kintetsu is the only team to reach this mark multiple times, this being their third.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
