Working on Japanese Career Data

Working on Japanese Career Data
I will have data for all retired offensive players up on the web starting around April 1st. I tried to model it, at least to a degree, on Baseball Reference. It won't be totally complete in terms of having absolutely every stat for ever player, but I did the best I could with the limited data access I have. It will be the only one of its kind on the web and should help fill in some historical gaps for you. It will have biographical info, where possible, on each player as well.

By the end of this year, I hope to have completed stats for all retired pitchers along with records and titles. I will keep adding data as I get it.

I'm also going to add complete box scores for this regular season as opposed to the partial ones I ran last season. But current standings and leaders I will leave up to Michael.

By the way, I am looking for writers, especially those who live in Japan (if you're not in Japan, that's okay, too), to help me provide coverage of Japanese baseball. If you're interested, send me an e-mail and I will send you an HTML attachmment telling you what I'm looking for. For you visually creative types, I am also looking for a cartoonist or two with an idiosyncratic style to provide Japanese baseball-related humor, caricatures and commentary.

BaseballGuru.com is also looking for those who can provide daily news on the KBO as well. We're getting nearly a million hits a month now and we would like to see that keep climbing.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
