If anybody watched today's game (9/15) between Orix and Nippon Ham, please tell me with two outs why Orix chose to pitch to Sledge and not walk him with first base open. This move would have given Orix three advantages.
  1. They could go to any base for an out.
  2. Koyano, the next hitter, isn't as good as Sledge.
  3. Koyano being a right handed hitter would be better for Katoh to face than Sledge who is a left handed hitter.
I can't believe the Orix coaching staff could miss this.

Well, just consider it a mistake to match a mistake. Why was Darvish left in so long anyway?
