Tracking Down Japanese Baseball Cards

Tracking Down Japanese Baseball Cards
Is there anyone here who might be willing or able to help me track down a couple of Japanese Hensley Meulens cards? The only two Japanese cards I'm missing are these (as listed in Gary Engel's book):
  • 1994 Chiba Lotte Marines Menko 6641032
  • 1995 Takara Yakult Swallows 9
Between Rob Fitts and Scott Kaneko, I've managed to find all the rest, but these two continue to elude me. I've not even seen one of the 1994 Menko cards, so I have no idea what they look like.

I've scanned every Meulens card I've been able to find and uploaded them to a Picasa album if anyone would like to see. (If you go up to the "My Photos" level, you can also get to my Bernardo Brito and Tuffy Rhodes collections.)

Thanks!

Jason

Jason,

Have you tried Prestige Collectibles? They might be able to help.

Good luck!

I did, indeed; just forgot to list them. I sent them my want list when I ordered a copy of Gary Engel's book. Their singles selection seems a bit limited and they didn't have either of the Meulens cards.

I also looked into Yahoo! Japan Auctions, but 90% of sellers don't ship internationally and the proxy services all want an up-front fee that would be more than I'd likely spend on cards in a year or more.

Still hunting for those two Hensley Meulens cards. Does anyone know of any oddball collectors in Japan that might have seen that menko?

I'm down to 7 known cards of Hensley Meulens left to complete my collection, but the remaining 7 are proving a serious challenge. If anyone has a line on those last two Japanese cards, I'd gladly give $10 each.

I realize that this is an old thread, but I just need to add this.

In addition to those two Meulens cards I'm still hunting, I'm also now down to just two more Japanese cards of Bernardo Brito:

1996 Calbee #134
1996 Takara Nippon Ham Fighters

I managed to snag the 1996 BBM from Rob Fitts this week but would LOVE to be able to close out my Japanese wants for my Brito collection.
