Akinori Otsuka: Retired?
Akinori Otsuka; Is he retired? What has happened to him? He was very good and to see him disappear is very mysterious.

He was in MLB 2 years ago with the Texas Rangers, but then he had tightness in his right (throwing) shoulder in 2007, which landed him on the disabled list. In January of last year, Ohtsuka said he was going under the knife for elbow surgery, which kept him out for all of last year (my guess is that it was Tommy John Surgery). He's currently rehabbing for this season.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
