Is it Possible to Buy a Japanese Baseball?
Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to buy a pro Japanese baseball? You can pretty easily get the MLB official balls (Rawlings I think), but I have never seen an official Japanese ball.

Do they sell them? If so, where?

yours,
Alex

I've seen people ask this before, but never looked into it. Having searched now, they are surprisingly plain. It looks like NPB just gets unlabeled baseballs and stamps them. It would appear, at least as of 2007, that SSK Sports supplies NPB.

You can find them on Yahoo! Auctions Japan sometimes. The seller Kumirinpa has them for ¥2,000, which is about $22 US. They don't ship internationally, so if you use a proxy/deputy shopping service like KuboTEN.com, you're also paying some extra fees and shipping.

Cool...my brother lives in Japan (and speaks Japanese) so they can sort it out and bring one back next Christmas!

Thanks!

I don't know about this year but unlike MLB, NPB allowed teams to have balls made by different manufactures as long as it's approved by and meet NPB specifications!
