You Gotta Have Wa

Discussion in the Book Reviews forum
You Gotta Have Wa
I just finished reading You Gotta Have Wa. It's a great book because it gave me an understanding of the Japanese game (and culture). Anyway, is baseball in Japan still run the way it was up to the 1980s? Do coaches, players, and fans still have the same work ethic and feelings toward gaijin?

Thanks.

I just finished reading this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very informative, at times amusing, and at other times somewhat disturbing. I have attended a couple games in Japan and from watching the games I got no idea of the things noted in the book.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Japanese baseball, or Japanese corporate life, or even Japanese society in general. I have no idea whether the same approach to baseball or the same attitudes still prevail in Japan, but I would imagine that old traditions die hard.
