もう脇役じゃない。巨人脇谷亮太二塁手（２６）がソフトバンク戦で、レギュラーとしての地位固めに猛烈アピールした。３安打２盗塁と持ち味を発揮。篠塚打撃コーチから「本人がどういう立場か分かっている。レギュラーを意識してると思うけど、そのためには守りも走塁も含めてきちっとこなすのが大事。そういう意味では今日は上出来だったね」と高評価を得た。
