2007 Player Meikan

Discussion in the Administrative forum
2007 Player Meikan
The 2007 Player Meikan is complete for those players who made the Shukan Baseball paper version (Edition #7 of 2007). I'll be entering new players as the season progresses (hopefully that will include Tuffy some time soon). I've corrected a number of mistakes for continuing players (the most frequent error was that a number of Tochigi born players were listed as being from Ibaraki).

There was one player I had trouble with. I think that Softbank's 4th round high school pick Tu-Shen was called "Ping-Yen" at the time of the draft. Was that a transliteration mistake back then? Is "Tu-Shen" correct? I'm have a hard time tracking down how to write this player's name. Can anyone help?

Finally, I'd like to express my gratitude to Ken D. who entered most of the 2007 salary information. Thanks to his efforts, this is the earliest that the Meikan has been made electronically available to you all.

As usual, if you find any errors that I didn't catch, please let me know.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
