Another Bad Day for Kei Igawa

Discussion in the Nichi-Bei forum
Another Bad Day for Kei Igawa
Kei Igawa unraveled against the Seattle Mariners last night, surrendering three home runs (including one to Kenji Johjima) in an ugly 15-11 loss at Yankee Stadium. Igawa gave up eight runs on nine hits in 4+ innings.

Low point for me was when he plunked Ichiro in the fourth (probably intentionally), after a home run by Jose Lopez. Last night Sal Marchiano said on New York's CW11 News that "Igawa probably just isn't ready for the major leagues."

After the game, Igawa said (through his interpreter), "It's a learning curve, I'm learning every day."
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
