Angels Sign Sumi
Just saw a blurb over at Japan Baseball Daily on the Angels signing third baseman Ikko Sumi.

Sumi is a 5'8, 187 lb right handed hitting third baseman who went undrafted in the NPB draft. He is the son of former NPB reliever Mitsuo Sumi. He dropped out of Hakuo University after playing for Tokaidai Sagami High School.

Sumi [Minor League Baseball] played with the Angels' Dominican Summer League team this summer, batting .176/.345/.231 with 1 HR and 7 RBI in 31 games and 91 ABs. He will join the Angels' minor league camp in Tempe next spring.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
