Valentine to join ESPN as commentator

Valentine to join ESPN as commentator
Today's (September 23) NY Daily News is reporting that Bobby Valentine will sign a contract joining ESPN as a commentator, most probably for their "Baseball Tonight" program.

Bob Raissman reports that Bobby V is "on the verge of signing a lucrative multi-year deal with ESPN."

"Valentine, no doubt carrying his bag of disguises, will likely make his debut at the network working in its "Baseball Tonight" studio during next month's playoffs."

"It's a done deal," one source said. "And it should be announced soon."

My understanding is that the "done deal" is for the playoffs only. Anything after that is still unknown, including a possible triumphant return to Japan next season (or so I'm hoping).
