Monkeys sign P Mike Loree
The Lamigo Monkeys have signed 25 year old right handed pitcher Mike Loree. This season he was 5-7 with a 4.92 ERA in 18 games with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League.

"Mike has been a valuable member of our starting rotation," said Ducks manager Kevin Baez. "We will miss having him on our roster, but we wish him luck in Taiwan."

In order to make room for Loree the Monkeys released P Ben Moore (6-3, 3.92 ERA in 13 games). We may see more activity before the Aug. 31st deadline to acquire new foreign players.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
