Rhinos sign P Nick Green

Rhinos sign P Nick Green
The EDA Rhinos have signed 28 year old right handed pitcher Nick Green. He was 4-5 with a 5.42 ERA in 19 games this year with the York Revolution of the independent Atlantic League.

Back in June it appeared Green had a deal to go pitch for the Yucatan Lions in the Mexican League. That deal fell through and he found himself back with the Revolution.

"Basically Yucatan was ready to go but Laguna had my rights first. And the reason they had my rights is because an agent contacted me and wanted to know if I was interested in playing in Mexico. I told him ‘Yes.’ And I sent my passport to him. He didn’t tell me Laguna was the team, he just said ‘I have a team for you,’” Green had said in a June interview.

Yucatan contacted Green just a day after he sent his passport to the agent.

"And so when Yucatan came in to finalize everything it came up through the (Mexican) League that Laguna had started talking to me first. So Laguna had my rights first and Yucatan backed off,” Green said. As a result the work visa and paperwork were not processed in time before Mexican League rosters were finalized.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
