Elephants sign P Brian Grening

Discussion in the CPBL News forum
Elephants sign P Brian Grening
The Brother Elephants signed P Brian Grening with hopes that he would be able to replace the injured Miguel Mejia (4-7, 3.29 ERA in 17 games) but his flight arrived late and they could not register him in time with the CPBL. Mejia was recently hit in the head on a comebacker.

This season Grening was 6-7 with a 3.74 ERA in 30 games (15 starts) with the Lancaster Barnstormers of the independent Atlantic League before having his contract purchased by the Elephants.

If they were unable to register him in time, then what happens with his contract? Is he just going to be released and returned to the Atlantic League? Or is he going to have to play out the rest of the season with the Elephants' farm club?
