Pitchers going to MLB?

Discussion in the Rumor Mill forum
Pitchers going to MLB?
I keep reading about postion players that might be headed to the MLB next year, but I haven't heard alot about any pitchers coming over.

Besides Ichiro, Shinjo and Taguchi I believe every other player that has come over in recent memory was a pitcher.

Does anyone know if any pitchers are rumored to be interested in MLB in 2003?

Now that you mention it, I haven't read of any such rumors so far. But, most players won't mention it until the season is over, so there's still a month and a half to wait. I don't play the guessing game, myself, and am happy to wait for the end of the season.

If you want to speculate, find a list of players who will qualify (or have qualified) for free agency by the end of this season. I thought I had seen such a list a few weeks ago, but I couldn't find it.

Supposedly, there is some interest by the Padres in Daisuke Miura of the Bay Stars, who is a free agent
after the schedule concludes. That's about the only real possibility I can think of. Tetsuro Kawajiri if Hanshin posts him (unlikely).

I met Ozzie Timmons who played with Chunichi last year at an AAA game, he told me the next pitcher who has a chance in the major is some guy name Saito, I forgot to ask him for his first name though...
