Yakult to Try and Bring Back Kaz Ishii?
Sankei Sports wrote an article stating that the Yakult Swallows might be trying to bring back lefty Kazuhisa Ishii to Japan. Ishii was posted by Yakult after the 2001 season, and the Los Angeles Dodgers won the bidding rights, signing him. In March of this year, Ishii was traded to the Mets, but due to poor performance and injury, even though Ishii has one year left on his contract, the Swallows apparently have obtained information that the Mets might release him after this season. With all the talk about catcher Atsuya Furuta becoming a playing manager next year, Furuta might be able to lure Ishii back to the Swallows, due to their longtime friendship while playing together for the Swallows. About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
