Discussion in the Rumor Mill forum
Taiwan Players to Japan?
I want to know any rumor about two Taiwan pitchers of the Macoto Cobras: #11 and #19. I heared that they may be going to Japan next year.

You can see their profiles here and here [Official CPBL site in Chinese].

Your best bet that I could tell you is to skim the Nikkan Sports online's baseball section and the Japan Ball website daily. Without a name it's pretty hard to know if a Japanese team is interested in a certain person or not.

Their names are Lin Ying-chieh (LHP) and Lin En-yu.

Lin Ying-chieh is a good pitcher in Taiwan. And he is still young.

Where did you hear this rumor?

I see that the Eagles are after Ying Cheh Lin.

The Eagles have signed Lin Ying-Jeh a few days ago I believe. Also, the Hawks signed Taiwanese pitcher Yang Yao-shun in October. The Fighters drafted Yang's brother Yang Chung-ju, who was a infielder in the high school draft.

I knew him in 2003, and that year was Makoto Cobra's first year. He was the team ace.

Yea, I saw it on the news. They're close to signing Lin Ying-jieh.

No word on where Lin En-yu's going.

I'd prefer both of them stay with the CPBL though. Too much talent is leaving Taiwan.

Maybe the NPB could put a team in Taipei called the Taiwan Islanders.

Are they signing them as free agents or buying them from the Cobras?
