Former MLBer Oswaldo Mairena in CPBL
The President Lions signed 31 year old left hander Oswaldo Mairena. He went 7-5 with a 4.12 ERA in 14 GP (14 GS, 83.0 IP) with the Mexico Diablos Rojos of the Mexican League before joining the Leos. Mairena has two Major League seasons under his belt, with the Chicago Cubs and Florida Marlins where he posted a combined record of 2-3 in 33 GP. He had a 6.06 ERA.

In other transactions, the Makoto Cobras have added 30 year old right hander Michael Lyons to their 25-man roster. Before coming to the Chinese Professional Baseball League, Lyons played with the Sioux Falls Canaries where he went 8-6 with a 4.05 ERA in 26 GP (16 GS, 126.2 IP). He walked only 19 and struck out 107 batters. In his first game with the Cobras, Lyons had struck out four in three innings. He scattered two hits and walked two.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
