PS3 Pawapuro Speculation Thread
With the next gen systems getting ready to release, I thought I'd post up this theory.

Perhaps the PS3 Pawapuro will mix both the NPB and MLB teams. I know there's been a lot of requests for WBC on Japanese boards, and this would make it possible. There's definitely a lot more room on Blu-Ray, and a lot of the grunt work has been done. For example, announcing and stadiums. My Life would also be more interesting, because a really successful NPB player could decide to transfer to the majors. In turn, a major league player could go to NPB.

I don't think Pawapuro needs a huge graphical upgrade(just be a bit smoother and more animations), but the increase in depth would be huge. I think this would have a lot more potential to sell than a jacked up 12 team traditional Pawapuro.

BigManZam,

I hope that there's something to your theory. Just the prospect of all those teams and stadiums in one game gets me going.

And why else would Konami go to all the trouble of acquiring MLB rights, and then making a solid game with incredible stadiums? (PawaMajor is much better than Pawapuro 13, in my opinion.) I'd bet that Konami has got some exciting future plans for its newly acquired MLB license.

Beyond videogames...in my lifetime, I'd like to see the MLB champion play the NPB champion for the TRUE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. The WBC and Konami's potential plans could bring this dream a bit closer to reality.
