Norichika Aoki graduated from Waseda University in 2003, joining the Yakult Swallows in 2004. In 2005, Aoki was the Rookie of the Year, Batting Champion, Hits Leader, and a member of the Central League Best 9. He also set the Central League record for most hits in a season in 2005 with 202 hits. Aoki was a member of the 2006 World Baseball Classic champion Team Japan and is a rapidly rising Japanese baseball player.
