Baseball Bullet-In: 'American Pastime' is poignant drama
The DVD of the movie "American Pastime" belongs on your shelf next to some of the more contemporary baseball flicks such as "Field of Dreams," "A League of Their Own," "For Love of the Game," "The Rookie," "Bull Durham" and "Mr. Baseball."

It is the story of the Nomuras, a Japanese-American family living in Los Angeles and running a thriving business when along comes that "Day of Infamy," Dec. 7, 1941. The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor kicks off America's entrance into World War II, and the lives of the Nomura family members are suddenly and drastically changed.
