Saito leads Waseda to national title
Yuki Saito threw one-run ball over 5 2/3 innings and Makoto Onozuka hit a two-run homer Sunday as Waseda University beat Tokai University 4-1 to win its first national collegiate championship in 33 years. Saito struck out six and allowed seven hits in his second start in as many days following Saturday's semifinal game against Soka University and was later named the MVP of the tournament, making him the first freshman to win the award. Waseda University captured the national title for the third time overall and became the first university from the Tokyo Big Six League to win the title since Hosei University in 1995.
