Marines sign former Orix infielder
The Lotte Marine have acquired former Orix BlueWave infielder Jose Ortiz in a deal worth 30 million yen plus performance bonuses, the Pacific League club said Monday. The 30-year-old Ortiz, who hit .272 with 57 home runs and 157 RBIs in 255 games for Orix in 2003 and 2004, will arrive in Japan as early as this week.
