It wasn't baseball's equivalent of Napoleon's retreat from Moscow, but the Giants' Jeremy Powell has been through one tough slog. Yomiuri allowed him to go back to the United States on March 22 for preseason knee surgery, and the right-hander had been busting his hump ever since to resume his role as a key rotation starter.
