THE HOT CORNER: Brutality the name of Japan's games
One would have to crawl fairly low to make Japanese baseball's brutal practices look good, but sumo has succeeded with its latest scandal. A reluctant teenage wrestler, who died after an abnormally long and abusive 30-minute training session in the ring, was apparently prepared for his final dohyo session with a blow by a metal baseball bat.
