The bunt is a key play in baseball that should be used to advance runners as well as to begin and continue innings. The main concept of the bunt is that the hitter will change the direction of the pitch and redirect it toward first base or third base by the angle of his bat. There are many different stances and variations of foot work that allow the batter to put his body in a comfortable position, but the one constant is the angle of the bat.
