Takahashi signs new four-year deal
Yomiuri Giants outfielder Yoshinobu Takahashi signed a four-year contract with the club on Monday without exercising his right to become a free agent. In 2008, Takahashi will earn an estimated ¥350 million, up ¥70 million from this year, plus performance-based incentives of up to ¥50 million. Takahashi, mainly out of the leadoff spot, hit .308 with 35 homers and 88 RBIs in 133 games this past season, to help Yomiuri win the Central League title.
