Nationals Sign Maekawa
The Washington Nationals have signed former Buffaloes starter Katsuhiko Maekawa to a minor league contract in which he will be invited to spring training.

Maekawa [Minor League Baseball] went 2-1 with a 1.82 ERA in 7 starts in the Dominican Winter League. In a 10 year NPB career, Maekawa was 31-45 with a 5.26 ERA in 149 games.

Oh boy. I'd wish him luck if he weren't such a scumbag.

Well, Maekawa's visa has been denied by U.S. authorities. Manager, Manny Acta, thinks it's a result of Maekawa's hit and run accident. It doesn't look good for Maekawa's chances, which were already a long shot. It is probably likely that Maekawa will never report to camp and that the Nationals will leave it at that.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has information regarding the status of Maekawa?

Thanks.
