Fighters Release Mirabal
The Nippon Ham Fighters released pitcher Carlos Mirabal who had been sidelined with a shoulder injury since early April. Mirabal was 0-3 with a 7.71 ERA in 3 games. Mirabal was the Fighters' opening day starter. Mirabal was also expected to serve as a key anchor in the rotation, but didn't because of injury. It's too bad they let him go. If anyone watched the opener, he had a no-no through 6 innings, and wound up losing 3-1 on a 3 hitter. I hope he bounces back in the US or in Japan.
